A lot has recently been said about the size of Tweed fish and it is, of course, of particular interest and concern to Tweed fishers; a very hot topic of conversation on the riverbank.
There has been a long-term trend towards Autumn Salmon and Grilse becoming smaller and, possibly, a more recent trend towards Spring Salmon becoming larger.
A paper has been prepared by Dr Ronald Campbell of The Tweed Foundation on changes in Tweed Salmon sizes in response to the many times that this subject has been raised on Tweed over the last season or so.
