TweedStart's fund raising got off to a flying start at last weekend's Tweed Angling Fair when the Rod Raffle results were announced on the Sunday afternoon. Five brand-new rods had been donated to TweedStart for the raffle from Sage, Loop, Orvis and Greys with all proceeds going to help the continued funding of TweedStart, giving children the opportunity to learn to fish.
The draw was made by Mr William Rodger, the Chairman of TweedStart, who also presented the prizes. Lucky anglers who had the five winning tickets were as follows:-

The Rod Raffle has raised £2,370 for TweedStart and thanks go to all those who supported the project by buying raffle tickets and also to Orvis, Loop, Sage and Greys for donating five fantastic rods as prizes.
On the Saturday evening of the Angling Fair a reception was held at the Ednam House Hotel hosted by TweedStart in conjunction with the Atlantic Salmon Reserve (ASR) to help raise further funds. An auction of sporting related items and days took the total raised for TweedStart over the weekend, including donations, to £4,630. TweedStart wishes to thank ASR for their support and also all those who attended, and made bids, for items in support of the project.
