Carham is a double-banked beat a mile long about mid-way between Kelso and Coldstream. In the autumn Carham is let with the services of two ghillies. Much of the beat is easily wadable. The five-year averages for October are 108 Salmon and 4 Sea-trout (ranged from 62 fish in 2005 to 200 fish in 2007); for the week commencing 20th October the averages are 22 Salmon and a Sea-trout (ranged from nil in 2004 - a major spate - to 57 in 2007).
