The Grayling was tagged on 15th February 2007 (Tag. No. 233) on Tweed at Walkerburn, when the Tweed Foundation Trout & Grayling Biologist had local MP, Michael Moore, out with him. The fish was tagged around 400 metres downstream of the road bridge over Tweed at Walkerburn and was 45cms in length at capture, weighing around 2lbs.

Michael Moore MP releases Grayling Tag No. 233 in February 2007
It was recaptured by an angler from Edinburgh on 25th July 2007 fishing on Holylee. Unfortunately there is no information on the size of the Grayling at its recapture. However, the recapture approximately two miles downstream from the tagging position is quite unusual as the vast majority of the Grayling that have been tagged and subsequently recaptured (often more than once!) have been recaptured in the exact same place they were tagged, and what little movements there have been are thought to be associated with spawning.
