News of a recaptured salmon tagged at Paxton netting station on 18th September 2006 reached the Foundation today from Norway.

Dr Thor Jacobsen was fishing at Traquair last back end and caught a yellow-tagged salmon, number 06862, on a black and orange tube fly on 7th November 2006.

The tag number indicated that the recaptured salmon was a male of 630mm. This brings the unadjusted exploitation rate from the 2006 tagging programme to 9% - the highest exploitation rate the Foundation has recorded in a normal season.
