The prize draw for those anglers who had kept and returned a Log Book for the 2006 season took place at the Tweed Foundation's Offices at Drygrange last Friday, 26th January 2007.

TTGI Biologist, Kenny Galt, looks on as Tweed Foundation Chairman, Andrew Douglas-Home pulls the winners out of the hat!
Keen to encourage more anglers to keep Log Books to help the work of the Tweed Trout & Grayling Initiative, several people kindly donated prizes for returned records; the Initiative wishes to thank Hardys of Alnwick, St Bowells & District Angling Association, Mr Ron Holloway and the River Tweed Commission for donating the prizes.
Winners for 2006 were:
Mr Alan Turnbull of Coldstream Angling Asssociation who won a £500 voucher for Hardys.
Mr John Heatlie of Kelso Angling Association who won a Loop 6-weight, 10' trout rod.
Mr John Miller of St Mary's Angling Association won a Silver Creek reel.
Mr Cuillen Rae of St Boswells Angling Association won a pair of waders.
Mr John Reed of St Boswells Angling Association won a bottle of whisky.
Mr J S McGregor of Kelso Angling Association won a fly fishing line.
The prize draw will be run again this year in the hope of enticing more anglers to complete a Log Book. The Log Books are quick and easy to use and supplying this information really does help the Initiative gain a lot more information on the habits and catches of Trout throughout the catchment.
Log Books for the 2007 season will be distributed by the Angling Clubs, on behalf of the Initiative, when they give out their season tickets. If you would like to keep a Log Book - and everyone is very welcome to do so - and will not receive one directly from a Club please contact the TTGI Biologist, Kenny Galt who will be pleased to send one on to you:
